Earlier today, it was announced that Leighton Vander Esch, a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, has decided to retire—a Green Bay Packers rival.
Vander-Esch has struggled with neck injuries throughout his career, and he suffered one during the 2023 season.

#Cowboys starting LB Leighton Vander Esch is medically retiring from football after a six-year career. With 557 tackles in 71 games, Vander Esch was a Pro Bowler before a neck injury ended his career.

Vander-Esch played six seasons for the Dallas Cowboys, appearing in 72 games and recording 469 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and three interceptions. He had eight tackles and eight assists versus the Packers.
