Although he isn’t playing for the Milwaukee Bucks anymore, Sandro Mamukelashvili remains a solid piece to have for any NBA team. Turns out, the San Antonio Spurs recognized that detail by recently signing him to a new deal.
Mamukelashvili, a Georgian-American professional basketball player, was drafted in the second round using the 54th overall pick by the Indiana Pacers in the 2021 NBA Draft. He then signed with the Bucks, where he played for two seasons from 2021 to 2023.

During his time with the Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, Mamukelashvili also spent time with their G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. In the 2023 NBA G League Next Up Game, he showcased his skills and was named to the Next Up Game roster.
In 2023, the forward signed with the San Antonio Spurs, where he currently plays as a center/power forward. He has continued to develop his game, showcasing his versatility as a big man who can score, rebound, and facilitate.
The former Bucks forward showed potential last season, averaging solid production in increased playing time towards the end of the year. His addition gives the Spurs 14 players on their regular season roster, just one shy of the maximum.
Former Milwaukee Bucks Forward Sandro Mamukelashvili Receives One-Year Deal From San Antonio Spurs

Thanks to a respectable showing before last season ended, the Spurs extended Mamukelashvili using a new deal. ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed this news in a tweet he posted on his official X account.
“Free agent F Sandro Mamukelashvili has agreed on a one-year, $2.2 million deal to return to the San Antonio Spurs, sources tell ESPN. George Roussakis and Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports confirmed the deal,” Woj tweeted.
Before he proved his worth playing for San Antonio, the Georgian-American forward spent two seasons playing for Milwaukee. During that period, Mamukelasvili averaged 3.2 points on 34 percent shooting from deep and 2.1 rebounds.

With the former Bucks forward locked for another year, the Spurs will get to enjoy his talents more on the court, especially since All-Star point guard Chris Paul will run the team’s offense. Expect Mamukelashvili to thrive more with Victor Wembanyama and company.
