The Green Bay Packers are in control of their own NFL Playoffs destiny after their 33-10 victory over their NFC North rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, on Sunday night. Despite injuries to Christian Watson (hamstring), Dontayvion Wicks (chest), and Luke Musgrave (kidney), Jordan Love put together an offensive masterclass while Joe Barry’s defense took advantage of poor Vikings quarterback play all night.
Love finished the game 24/33 (72.7%) for 256 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also added a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, giving him four total touchdowns on the night. Love’s performance was his eighth game this season with multiple touchdown passes and no interceptions, tying him with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy for the most such games this season.
Most importantly, the Packers improved to 8-8 with the win and eliminated both the Vikings and Chicago Bears from playoff contention. They also took possession of the seventh and final seed in the NFC Playoff picture and will advance to the postseason if they defeat the Bears in Week 18.
While the overall success of the team is exciting, it bears highlighting the fact that Love has been everything that the Packers hoped he would be and more this season. Despite struggling in the month of October, Love and the offense have put together an impressive late-season run that has them in control of their own destiny. In the process, Love has etched his name in NFL history with his accomplishments.

Technically the Vikings are not yet eliminated from playoff contention.
