For the first time since 2005, the Green Bay Packers do not have a Pro Bowl player. With the announcement of the 2024 Pro Bowl rosters, only one Packers player, Keisean Nixon, saw his name among the top ten vote getters at his position (kick returner). This could change in the coming weeks as five of Green Bay’s stars were named as alternates. As Pro Bowl players undoubtedly will drop out, one or more Packers players may find themselves being named after all.
This does not change the fact, though, that there may have been a few Green Bay players snubbed from the games. Nixon, for example, has more kick return yards than Rashid Shaheed (the NFC’s Pro Bowl kick returner) has kick return yards and punt return yards combined. Elgton Jenkins has not allowed a sack all year, yet is not on the roster. Rashan Gary is putting up absurd numbers despite not playing many snaps until midseason.
The benefit each of these players have, though, is that they are among the five Packers alternates. Depending on who drops out, they could see themselves added to the Pro Bowl roster.
One name that is missing from both the Pro Bowl roster and list of alternates is that of first-year starting quarterback Jordan Love. While his absence may not be entirely a surprise, it is a shame because he is having a better season than Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who was one of three quarterbacks named to the Pro Bowl in the NFC. The others were Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Deserves the Pro Bowl More than Matthew Stafford

One of the biggest factors in determining Pro Bowl rosters is fan voting, and in that sense Stafford’s selection is understandable. Los Angeles has one of the largest fan bases in the country. However, that does not change the fact that Love has out-performed Stafford in most passing categories this season:
Jordan Love | Matthew Stafford | |
Completion % | 63.1% | 62.6% |
Passing Yards | 3,843 | 3,965 |
Touchdowns | 30 | 34 |
Interceptions | 11 | 11 |
Passer Rating | 93.8 | 92.5 |
4th Quarter Comebacks | 2 | 1 |
Game Winning Drives | 3 | 2 |
As seen above, the only major statistic in which Stafford has a better number than Love is in passing yards. Other than that, Love has been the better quarterback overall this season.
Furthermore, it is not like the Rams have been much better than the Packers this season. While the two teams sit as the NFC’s sixth and seventh seeds respectively, Love and the Packers can leap over Los Angeles in the standings if they beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday and the Rams lose to the San Francisco 49ers.
Other Ways Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Has Made a Case for the Pro Bowl

Love’s Pro Bowl standing, or lack there of, is undoubtedly the result of the poor stretch of play he and the offense had in October. However, those games have not kept him from having better numbers than Stafford, nor have they shaken his confidence.
Aside from season-long statistics, Love has also proven to be among the NFL’s best quarterbacks since November in multiple ways, including this interesting stat from the Packers’ dope sheet:
Love is the only QB in the league to throw for 1,800-plus yards and 16-plus TDs with one or fewer INTs and a completion percentage of 68.0-plus over a seven game span this season (Week 11-17).
Love is the first NFL quarterback to hit those marks over a seven-game span since Packers QB Aaron Rodgers did so in 2021 (Weeks 11-12, 14-18).
Additionally, Love has eight games this season with multiple touchdown passes and no interceptions. This is tied for the NFL lead with Brock Purdy. Prescott has seven such games. Stafford has four.
Among NFL quarterbacks, Love is tied for third in total touchdowns with 34 (Prescott). Only Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts have more. Purdy has 33. Stafford has 24.
Conclusion: Jordan Love Will Get His

Love has certainly proven that he is the quarterback of the future in Green Bay. If he is able to put up these kinds of numbers in his first year as a starter, he will only put up better numbers in the future.
He may have been snubbed from this year’s Pro Bowl, but he almost certainly has multiple Pro Bowl selections in his future.
