The Green Bay Packers are expected to sign QB Jordan Love to a massive contract extension this off-season. In addition to throwing for 4,159 yards and 11 interceptions, the 25-year-old ranked second in the league with 32 passing touchdowns. In the NFC Wild Card Round, he led Green Bay to an upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys, despite having the youngest roster in the NFL last season. In the Divisional Round, the Packers fell to the San Francisco 49ers by just three points.
Now numbers are surfacing regarding his expected contract.
Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love’s Contract Extension Is Expected To Be Huge
In an appearance on SportsCenter on Sunday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Packers are hoping to extend Love’s contract, which would place him among the top signal-callers in the league:
“The Packers are committed to getting something done with Love. He got the proof of concept last year with the big season, so they believe he’s their future,” Fowler explained. “This could heat up after the draft.
He’s due to make around $10 million next year. Signed a one-year bridge deal last offseason; should be a lot bigger, putting him somewhere probably in the top-10 highest-paid passers.”
What Does “Top-10 Highest Paid Passers” Mean For Jordan Love?
According to AZ Central, these are the top ten highest paid QBs going into the 2024 season:
NFL’s highest-paid quarterbacks in 2024 (average salary per year):
- 1. Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow: $55 million
- 2. Chargers QB Justin Herbert: $52.5 million
- 3. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson: $52 million
- 4. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts: $51 million
- 5. Broncos QB Russell Wilson: $49 million
- 6. Cardinals QB Kyler Murray: $46.1 million
