Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry is busy preparing for a tough matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. One thing that would help the defense is the return of Jaire Alexander who has missed the last three games with a shoulder injury. While head coach Matt LaFleur wouldn’t commit to him playing, Barry had a more positive tone.
"He's had two pretty good days, yesterday and today."

Green Bay Packers Joe Barry On Jaire Alexander
One sign pointing towards Alexander playing is that he has practiced the last two days. “He’s had two pretty good days, yesterday and today,” Barry told reporters. Consecutive days of practice are usually a good sign for an injured player. Another positive would be that it seemed that Alexander was going to go last week but was a late scratch. Nothing is guaranteed but Barry seems confident that Alexander will be ready soon.
A Big Boost To The Secondary
This secondary has been doing so well in Alexander’s absence. However, the Chiefs are a different animal. While the receivers leave much to be desired, any offense led by Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid is dangerous. Barry mentioned in this press conference that it is difficult preparing for the Chiefs but if this secondary plays like they have the past couple of weeks, they will make it difficult. It will be an even bigger boost if Alexander can play and take some pressure off the young corners.
Can the defense slow down the Chiefs and get a big win? The Packers have renewed playoff hopes and this would be a huge win for the team and their confidence going into the last part of the season.
