The Green Bay Packers came out on top, 38-20, over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in their season opener. Jaire Alexander had some words about D.J. Moore and the team’s performance.
Green Bay Packers impressive defensive performance

The entire offseason for the Green Bay Packers was filled with questions about how the team would respond to a new quarterback. Many experts believed the team would have to lean heavily on the defense. Even though the offense showed up, the defense still played a very impressive game. Jaire Alexander’s matchup with D.J. Moore was also a big talking point. Alexander and the Packers held Moore to just 2 catches for 25 yards.
“Yeah, it was real quiet for him. I don’t know if anybody thought anything else was gonna happen,” Alexander said after the game in the locker room.
Alexander’s confidence has made him the talking point of most of his matchups, but he always seems to back it up. Alexander did not allow a single catch to D.J. Moore when he was guarding him and played a major role in holding the star wide receiver to just 25 yards. The Green Bay Packers defense was dominating up front as well and made it difficult for Justin Fields to make passes downfield.
“I think we played really well, we could have done better, but I think we played really well for our week one performance,” said Alexander.
The Packers’ defense forced two turnovers, had four sacks and scored a touchdown in their season opener. The team will face the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta in week two.
