Back in the spring of 2023, the Green Bay Packers were one of the most talked about teams in the NFL. They traded future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets and allowed several fan-favorite veterans to leave the team in free agency. These moves, of course, were made to allow Jordan Love to take over under center and to get younger as a team.
Among the players allowed to leave that spring were wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. With only a few then second-year wide receivers on their roster, Green Bay drafted three more pass catchers in the 2023 NFL Draft: Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Grant DuBose.
Reed and Wicks made the 53-man roster as rookies and are still with the team. DuBose, unfortunately, spent his rookie season injured and never played. While healthy in the summer of 2024, he could not crack the 53-man roster and was placed on waivers.
Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Grant DuBose Was Picked Up by the Miami Dolphins
The Packers likely hoped DuBose would clear waivers so that they could sign him back onto their practice squad. However, he was claimed by the Miami Dolphins the very next day.

He made his NFL debut with Miami in Week One of this season. In Week Two, he recorded one catch for 13 yards, but, unfortunately, injured his shoulder and was placed on injured reserve.
DuBose was not activated from IR until today and he took the field for just third time this season as the Dolphins faced off against the Houston Texans.
Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Grant DuBose Had to Be Carted Off the Field
The Texans are already playing without linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair who was suspended for his illegal hit on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. If the team was hoping to avoid the “dirty” label with Al-Shaair on the shelf, they did themselves no favors on Sunday.
DuBose was the victim of an absolutely dirty hit to the head by safety Calen Bullock while he was defenseless. The impact knocked him out.
Team medical personnel had to cut off his jersey before placing him on a stretcher and having him transported to the locker room.

DoBose was down on the field motionless for over 10 minutes before he was able to be transported.
Hopefully he will be okay and can make a full recovery. DuBose has worked so hard and has taken many personal chances to make it to the NFL. It is beyond unfortunate that he has had to deal with so many injuries, and this latest one was something he absolutely could not control.
