Green Bay Packers players and alumni are all about giving back to the community. This is especially true when it comes to organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children. On July 15, 2023, several Packers alumni are taking part in an epic showdown against Chicago sports legends in Rockford, Illinois.

The epic celebrity softball game will take place at Rivets Stadium. The Rockford Rivets are a baseball team that is part of the Northwoods League, the same league that the Kenosha Kingfishers and Lakeshore Chinooks play in.

Former Packers players that will be present include:

    • Gilbert Brown
    • Ahman Green
    • JerMichael Finley
    • George Teague
    • Antonio Freeman
    • Charles Jordan

Former Milwaukee Bucks 7’0″ center Paul Mokeski will also join the team to take it to the former Chicago athletes.

Chicago legends that will be participating in the event include:

    • Mike Singletary
    • Andre Dawson
    • Mitch “Wild Thing” Williams

The softball game festivities will begin at 6:30 PM on July 15th. Tickets are just $15 and can be purchased here.

A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit to the Boys and Girls Club of America. Wisconsin Sports Heroics is a proud sponsor of this event.

I reached out to Gilbert Brown for a comment regarding the event and facing off against former Chicago players. His response:

“I’m waiting on the DeLorean to show on third base because that’s the only thing that happened since 1985.”

If you are able to attend, be sure to ask Gilbert what his career record is against the Bears.

Of course, this is just one of the many thing that Gilbert is doing over the summer to give back to his community. Last week, the Gilbert Brown Foundation gave a car to 17-year old Caleb Dahl, a disabled teenager with an incredibly inspiring story of overcoming adversity.
