Green Bay Packers – Fantasy Football Report: Week 3

In a game that the Packers once led 17-0, Trey Lance took over to give the 49ers their first points of the half. The scoring didn’t end there, as the Packers allowed for the 49ers to come back within striking distance, ultimately taking the lead with just over 30 seconds left. No timeouts on the clock, Aaron Rodgers worked his magic. A record breaking 66 yard game winning field goal took place earlier in the day by Justin Tucker, but Mason Crosby is the one who ended Sunday with a bang. Let’s take a look at how everyone did in terms of fantasy points!

NOTE: The scoring is based off of PPR through NFL Fantasy. Please keep that in mind as the numbers may be slightly different from a Fantasy league you may be in!

    Aaron Rodgers: 19.04 Points

Aaron Rodgers didn’t quite reach the 20 point mark, however that doesn’t mean he played a bad game. With nearly 30 points last week, it was clear that number isn’t going to happen on a weekly basis. Aaron has once again put up a passer rating of over 120, something that he is synonymous for in his career. 261 yards and 2 touchdowns is far from a bad day at the office, and Rodgers led the game winning drive, so no complaints here.

    Aaron Jones: 17.6 Points

We all knew Aaron Jones’s 40+ fantasy points against the Lions wasn’t going to happen again anytime soon, but it isn’t too far fetched to assume that Jones will be scoring one or more touchdowns per game. Jones only caught the ball twice, but in fantasy terms, that is two free points from your running back. Coming in just shy at 100 yards, Jones had an interesting game as AJ Dillon took more snaps than he has all season. Are there injury concerns for Jones? Let’s hope not. Jones had a TD on the ground, and a total of 14 receiving yards compared to his 82 on the ground.

    AJ Dillon: 4.6 Points

Even in terms of being a RB2, it is still disappointing to see these numbers from AJ Dillon. The passing game is always going to be a focus, however AJ Dillon still isn’t showing his best work. This week he had a total of 6 carries, only resulting in 18 yards. Some work to be done there. Much like Aaron Jones, Dillon had two receptions, however his only accounted for 8 yards. As I said last week, I just don’t think it’s worth rostering AJ Dillon unless Aaron Jones comes out with a huge injury. At this point, you can find a more reliable RB2 for your flex spot.

    Davante Adams: 31.2 Points

Oh boy, did Davante Adams have himself a night! Adams had TWELVE catches, which results in twelve points in itself. Right away in the first half, it was easy to tell that Adams would be the focal point all night long. This trend nearly came to a halt at the hands of a helmet to helmet hit (which was a no call), however Adams miraculously made his way back onto the field a few minutes later. 132 yards on the day from 12 receptions, one of those being a touchdown is not a bad day at the office.

    Marquez Valdes-Scantling: 14.9 Points

Welcome to fantasy football, MVS! A few deep balls being thrown his way, as per the usual with Aaron Rodgers. Thankfully, MVS made the most of those deep balls, one of which ended in a touchdown. It is always such a risky decision if you are going to start MVS or not. Most times, I would save him for teams with poor defensive secondary, if not you are taking a big risk. MVS isn’t the guy who’ll receive six catches with minimal yards, it’s all or nothing with this guy. 3 receptions for 59 yards and 1 TD is a pretty solid game.

    Robert Tonyan: 1.6 Points

Yikes! This was not a great performance from TE1.. Tonyan only racked in one catch which was a totally forgettable six yards. I can recall one occurrence in the game where he should’ve had a second catch, however that was dragged down due to a pass interference penalty. They basically wrapped Tonyan up, which only hurts fantasy owners. I wouldn’t freak out too much about this performance, TD Tonyan will be back.

    Packers Defense: 7 Points

Honestly, this isn’t too bad. Not the best, especially thinking about how they did in the first fourteen minutes and fifty seven seconds of the game, but it was far from awful. The Packers put pressure on Jimmy G, and Kevin King out led to a breakout performance from Eric Stokes. As a team, the Packers had 4 sacks, which just isn’t good enough when Myles Garrett had 4.5 by himself. I’m kidding of course, that’s just insane. Add in an interception and a fumble recovery, and this was an alright defensive effort.

    Mason Crosby: 16 Points

The hero! This is insane. Crosby had 16 fantasy points and Tucker had 17. Unreal day for the kickers! Mason Crosby made his way onto the field with just a few ticks left on the clock, and he did what he did best. Kickers are scored based on how many kicks they make, and from what distance. Seeing as Crosby knocked in two field goals over 50 yards, he earned some major points. Sadly, you don’t get extra points for one of those being the game winner.
