The Green Bay Packers are expected to sign running back Josh Jacobs, according to a source that told Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. This is big news for the Packers because they were in the market for a running back this offseason.
Had they not gone after one in free agency, they would have drafted one and they may still draft one. Josh Jacobs has spent his entire career with the Las Vegas Raiders. He was the 24th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Alabama.
A season ago with the Raiders, he rushed for 805 yards on 233 carries and six touchdowns, along with averaging 3.5 yards per carry. He also caught 37 passes for 296 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 8.0 yards per reception.
In the previous season with the Raiders, he won the rushing title with 1,653 yards. This was a great move for the Green Bay Packers. He is only 26 years old and also one of the best running backs in the NFL.

The signing of Josh Jacobs can very well be the end of the Aaron Jones era in the backfield for the Packers. They can decide to cut him or they can keep him and have a duo of Jones and Jacobs in the backfield. What this does mean is that AJ Dillon will not be back with the Packers next season.
For now, this could be an overreaction from the fanbase they may not keep Aaron Jones, but will see. They should be happy they signed one of the top running backs in the league with Josh Jacobs. A top-tier free agent signing with Green Bay means that their Super Bowl window has officially opened with quarterback Jordan Love.
