The Green Bay Packers traded away Davante Adams after the 2021 season to the Las Vegas Raiders. Ever since then, Adams has played for the Raiders and he has also played with the New York Jets.
This offseason, the New York Jets will be moving on from Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. This also could mean that they are moving on from Adams this offseason. The Jets will want a new start for the 2025 season with Aaron Glenn running the show as head coach and also a new general manager as well.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler Thinks That the Green Bay Packers Could Bring Back Davante Adams Next Year
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Jets will probably release Adams to save almost $30 million in cap space. Fowler also said in an appearance on Sportscenter:
“He will have options, and I’m told that he is intrigued by the West Coast. You have teams like the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, maybe San Francisco 49ers. He’s from the West Coast, so it’s a possibility he could end up there. Maybe the Packers want to run it back to him as well if they could involved there.”
Well, the Green Bay Packers need a true number-one wide receiver for next season. He played for Green Bay from 2014-2021. Adams this past season with the Raiders and the Jets caught 85 passes for 1,063 yards, and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 12.5 yards per reception. He was targeted 141 times.
Davante Adams is 32 years old and he has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. It is going to be interesting to see if he would want to return to the Packers or not next year.
Los Angeles Chargers Would Make the Most Sense For Him
If Davante Adams is serious about going to the West Coast next year and not going back to Green Bay, the one team that would make the most sense for him is the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers are in win-now mode also and they need a true number one wide receiver for quarterback Justin Herbert.
Ladd McConkey was the number-one wide receiver this past season for the Chargers. Los Angeles made the playoffs last season under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Adams and McConkey would be a nice 1-2 punch for the Chargers next season also.
