The Green Bay Packers certainly have an issue on the offensive side of the ball when it comes to the salary cap. It should be noted, these type of “issues” only arise when you have a boat load of talent. That is exactly what Green Bay appears to have at the wide receiving position.
Dontayvion Wicks, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs (and even Bo Melton) is one of the youngest and most exciting wide receiving corps in the NFL.
Legendary wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson pointed out what kind of problem these four young studs could create for Green Bay.
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson Points Out One Real Problem For The Green Bay Packers

“The Packers are stacked at wide receiver. They got a little 4×1 track team at the receiving corps. Very very very good young receiving corps, and the fact that they were able to get them all at the same time at such a young age is going to cause problems later on when it’s time to get paid.
Shannon Sharpe added:
I think Christian Watson, if he can stay healthy, man that dude’s special. They got four dudes that are one (or) one-ish. You have to get as much out of them as you possible can while you have them because guess what? Jordan Love is going to want a quarter of a bill.
So how are you going to pay them receivers thats going to be worth 85-90 million guaranteed.
Chad Johnson and Shannon Sharpe make very good points. Those four receivers (Watson, Doubs, Reed, and Wick) are going to be eligible for an extension within a two year span.
It will be interesting to see how Brian Gutekunst, Russ Ball, and the rest of the Packers’ front office navigates those contracts when the time comes.
