Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson missed last week’s 24-19 win on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. Watson was ruled active on Sunday morning before the Arizona Cardinals matchup.
Watson caught three passes for 68 yards receiving and a touchdown in a 34-13 win for the Packers over the Cardinals. Green Bay is now 4-2 this season and Arizona is now 2-4 record-wise this season.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Christian Watson Talks About His 44-Yard Touchdown In the First Half
The former North Dakota State Bison wide receiver caught a 44-yard touchdown from quarterback Jordan Love in the first half. Green Bay extended its lead to 24-0 in the first half after that touchdown reception. Watson mentioned to Ryan Wood how his touchdown was not part of the game plan.
However, the sidelines noticed that the Arizona Cardinals defensively were not following him deep. Head coach Matt LaFleur dialed up a play and Watson said:
“”As soon as we called it. I don’t want to be cocky or anything, but I knew it was a touchdown.”
This is interesting because this is good coaching by the Packers. Watson was able to get an easy pass from Jordan Love on the touchdown reception.
Moving Forward
Next week, the Packers will face the Houston Texans. It is a very good thing that Watson only missed one game and not more than that. Watson missed several games last season because of a hamstring injury.
It will be interesting to see if Jordan Love and Watson will be able to connect deep more often moving forward. Green Bay’s offense is ready for takeoff for the next several weeks.
