The Green Bay Packers seem to be making their final preparations before their matchup with the Chicago Bears. Sunday will see Jordan Love and Justin Fields face off against each other. Both franchises are hoping their guy proves they have what it takes to be the franchise quarterback. The Packers made another move prior to their Week One showdown.
The Green Bay Packers Activate Running Back Patrick Taylor For Matchup With The Chicago Bears
For Gameday, the Green Bay Packers elevated RB Patrick Taylor from the practice squad. These transactions were announced on Saturday by Brian Gutekunst, the general manager.
The addition of Taylor to the 53-man roster means he will support Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, and Emanuel Wilson at running back. It is more likely that he would contribute on special teams, but I wouldn’t rule out him seeing some plays out of the backfield
Not only has he Taylor with the team since 2020, but the Packers evidently appreciate what he’s able to provide on special teams. He was third on the team in special teams snaps this preseason and his familiarity with LaFleur’s offense gives him even more of an edge than he already has.
