The Green Bay Packers offensive line impressed through the 2023-24 NFL Season despite the unfortunate injuries to future hall-of-fame left tackle David Bakhtiari. In the 2024 offseason, the Packers invested in the offensive line with the signing of Tennesee’s Andre Dillard and a first-round selection of tackle Jordan Morgan. This appears to be a shot at securing depth and future starting material, although Green Bay ended as the third least sacked team in the 2023-24 season.
Much of the consistency was brought about by Rasheed Walker stepping into a reliable option at tackle late in the season. Despite getting benched mid-season, Walker earned his spot by playoff time and pitched shutouts on the biggest stage against some of the most talented rushers in the NFL. Being a seventh-round pick just two years ago, Walker has plenty left to prove, though he has a great chance at being a long-term starter for the Green Bay Packers.
Rasheed Walker May Keep His Role As Starting Left Tackle For Green Bay Packers

In 2023-24 the Green Bay Packers performed at a high level to end the season, particularly on the offensive end. The offensive line grew into a top-tier unit to support Jordan Love as the season progressed. In the playoffs, Green Bay faced elite pass-rushing talent including Micah Parsons and Nicks Bosa. Their matchups with Rasheed Walker had surprising results after his up-and-down season, combining for zero sacks and one QB matched against Walker.
These performances gave Rasheed Walker a confidence boost heading into the offseason.
“Elite. I feel elite,” Walker told Packer Central on Tuesday. “Names and labels don’t really dictate how I move. I see man just as man is. I’m in a good spot. I’m never really worried about who I’m going against. It’s, ‘Am I prepared? What do I have to do to prepare?’ That’s where I keep my focus on.”
With Minicamps coming in June as well as preseason to prove his position, Rasheed Walker will be given all the opportunity in the world to secure himself as a franchise starting left tackle. When asked about Rasheed Walker, Matt Lafleur naturally said positive things.
“I thought he had a really good year,” LaFleur said. “I think there’s a lot of room for improvement just in terms of from a consistency standpoint, you know, playing 70 plays at a high level. We’ve seen some great flashes from him. He’s certainly athletic enough to do it. So it’s going to be a big offseason for him, but he’s a guy that we’re certainly confident in.”
Matt Lafleur is right to comment on consistency, as Walker gave up a team-high eight sacks. Lafleur was also right to comment on flashes, as Walker maintained the best pass-block win rate (95.8%) among offensive linemen who logged at least 450 snaps last season.
The all-pro lineman Elgton Jenkins made it clear he is a fan of the impact that Rasheed Walker can bring.
“From his first game starting to his last game, he’s grown a lot,” Jenkins said. “You see it more on the field, as a player and as a person, I just feel like he matured so much. I’m excited for him moving forward. He’s got a bright future ahead of him.”
As the roster gets cut down and the starting lineup gets finalized, Rasheed Walker has a good shot to set himself as the future of Jordan Love’s blindside.
