For the first time since Week #4, the Green Bay Packers won back-to-back games with their 24-12 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night at Lambeau Field.
Here are a few stats (good and bad) that helped define that contest.
Good Stat: For the fifth time this season, the Packers defense held the opposition to under 20 points. The team is 4-1 in these games.
Bad Stat: The Pack had two turnovers in the game. It was the seventh time this year they had two or more turnovers in a contest.
Good Stat: The 14 points they scored in the third quarter is the most in the third quarter all season.
Bad Stat: The Rams scored on a field goal with less than two minutes to go in the first half. Green Bay has now allowed 63 points in the last two minutes of the first half this year, most in the NFL in 2022.
Another game with multiple sacks for Preston Smith
Good Stat: Preston Smith had a pair of sacks in the game. He now has two or more sacks in nine games in his career, six of them with the Packers. He is now tied for 10th place on the Packers all-time list for most games with multiple sacks. Reggie White tops this category with 16 games with the Packers with two or more sacks.
Good Stat: The Packers won the coin toss. They have now won 14 straight games at Lambeau Field when they win the coin toss. Since 2018, Green Bay is 18-1 in home games when they win the coin toss.
Bad Stat: Mason Crosby had no touchbacks on five kickoffs in the game. Of Crosby’s 55 kickoffs this season, only 12 have gone for a touchback… 21.8%.
Packers rookie defenders each record a sack
Good Stat: Rookies Kingsley Enagbare, Quay Walker, and Devonte Wyatt each had a sack or half-sack in the game. It was the first time since October 4, 1987, that the Packers had three rookies have a sack (or one-half) sack in a game.
Bad Stat: Aaron Rodgers had an interception, giving him 10 for the year. It is the third season in his career that he has thrown 10+ interceptions. The most interceptions he has had in a season is 13 in 2008, the first year Rodgers was the primary starter at QB.
Good Stat: The Packers’ defense held the Rams to only 156 total yards. It was the first game since December 23, 2019, that the defense held the opponents under 160 total yards. Green Bay has now won 12 straight dating back to 1996 when they hold the opponent under 160 yards total offense.
Good Stat: Keisean Nixon had 131 return yards in the game, 95 via kickoff return and 36 on punt returns. It was the fifth consecutive game that he had over 100 yards on kick returns (both kickoff and punts). He tied the Packers’ record for most consecutive games with 100+ kick return yards (kickoff and punt). Roell Preston did it five games straight in 1998.
Bad Stat: Aaron Rodgers was sacked three times in the game. It was the fifth game this season that Rodgers was sacked three or more times.
Good Stat: The Pack’s defense had five sacks in the game for the first time in 2022.
Good Stat: For the fourth time in his three-year career, AJ Dillon had two TDs in a game. The team is 4-0 in those games.
What happens when Packers get Aaron Jones 20+ touches in a game?
Good Stat: Aaron Jones had 21 touches in the game, 17 runs for 90 yards and four receptions for 36 yards. It was the 21st game in his career that he had 20+ touches. Green Bay is 18-3 in games when Jones has 20+ touches.
Bad Stat: Jones had one of the two turnovers in the game with a fumble. It was the second fumble this season for Jones.
Good Stat: Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson combined for nine catches and 101 yards. Doubs had five catches for 55 yards and Watson had four catches for 46 yards. They became only the fifth set of rookies to have at least four catches and 40 yards receiving each in the same game for the Pack.
Bad Stat: The Rams scored six points in the second quarter on a pair of field goals. It was the 11th straight game that the opponents have scored in the second quarter against the Packers.
Good Stat: Aaron Jones became the eighth Packers’ players since 1950 to score 60 or more touchdowns. Three more TDs will put Jones into sixth place on the all-time TD list; Donald Driver and Paul Hornung are tied for sixth with 62.
Good Stat: Aaron Jones had 21 touches for 126 yards; AJ Dillon had 14 touches for 71 yards. It was the second time this year that the pair each had at least 14 touches and 70 total yards in the same game.
