The Green Bay Packers have now had two players in the last 12 months sign record-breaking contracts. The most notable was Davante Adams when he signed his massive contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. After being traded to the Raiders, Adams signed a massive five-year, $140 million contract, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. Recently, another former Packers player signed a record-breaking contract, this time it was with the XFL.
Brett Hundley Signs Record-Breaking Contract With The XFL
Brett Hundley was the backup quarterback in Green Bay for three seasons. The Packers drafted Hundley in fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He primarily played back-up to Aaron Rodgers until 2017, when he was thrust into the starting lineup after the four-time MVP suffered a broken collarbone. As Wisconsin Sports Heroics already reported, Brett Hundley signed with the Las Vegas Vipers of the XFL. Since his signing, the details of his contract have emerged, and he is now the highest paid player in XFL history.
The XFL’s communications department tweeted that Brett Hundley contract with the Vegas Vipers is worth $200,000. That is the largest payday of any player in the third iteration of the spring football league. Hundley didn’t receive a lot of opportunities to be a starting quarterback in the NFL since 2017. This new role in the XFL could give him a chance to remind everyone of what kind of player he was coming out of college. Over the course of his three starting seasons at UCLA, Hundley accumulated 9,966 passing yards, 75 touchdowns, 25 interceptions, a 67.4 completion percentage, and a QB rating 150.8.
