Fantasy Football Top Five “Season-Heroes”
What a frustrating, fun, amazing, interesting game: fantasy football. Fantasy football originated in 1962, conceived by Oakland Raiders limited partner, Wilfred “Bill” Winkenbach, along with journalist Scotty Stirling and businessman Bill Tunnell. Can you imagine how that first draft went?
The concept took shape during a road trip, where the trio envisioned a game where participants could draft real NFL players and compete based on their statistical performance. Initially known as the “Greater Oakland Professional Pigskin Prognosticators League” (GOPPPL), it became the first organized fantasy football league.

How cool is that! If you are playing in your fantasy championship it is probably because of these “fantasy MVP’s”. Hindsight being 20/20 who wouldn’t take CMC 1st overall now? I know I would have loved to have Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts over Justin Fields or Justin Herbert. This offseason I really am going to have to research more about the “zero RB strategy”. It doesn’t seem so awful.

CMC
Generally thought of as someone possibly worthy of the first overall pick, Christian McCaffrey has been dominant this season. McCaffrey has been a dual threat scoring 14 rushing touchdowns and 7 receiving touchdowns. Even in a non-ppr league that is a ton of points.
His 1395 rushing yards, along with his 537 receiving yards, also helps.
This week he plays a weak Commanders defense and could end up winning quite a few championships if he plays well.

Tyreek Hill
Hill had a decent preseason rank (5) and has held form as fantasy football’s consensus number 1 receiver.
I can’t recommend HBO’s “In Season Hard Knocks” tv show enough. In it, Hill really has a big, interesting role. The man is just simply fast!
These are just great times for great wideouts.
CeeDee Lamb
Here there is some major value. It was rare for Lamb to have gone in the first round in most fantasy drafts. Now, per yahoo!, he is the second overall receiver. With a preseason rank of (20), Lamb has exceeded expectations. He also has helped a ton of teams win a bunch of weeks, almost by himself.
Mike Evans
Evans started the season as the preseason rank (55) and many fantasy football managers stayed away from him in their drafts.
He is now the WR 3 on the season and might win some league championships this weekend.

Raheem Mostert
Looking back, Mostert should have been a top-five overall pick. Instead, most (if not all) fantasy managers got him in round 3 or later.
Who wouldn’t want the Miami Dolphins starting running back? With 18 rushing touchdowns on the season and now as the Miami Dolphins franchise leader in touchdowns scored, Mossert provided a heck of a value.
Mostert started the season as preseason rank (77). I know in one of my “bigger money” leagues he went in the 5th round. Wow! Now that is value.

Jordan Love
For Packers fans Jordan Love has put up the stats. In fantasy football that is what you are after.
Starting the season with a preseason rank of (149), Love is all the way up to (7) overall in Yahoo! Player rankings. For players in the fantasy football game, that is also value!
