Eric Lauer and the Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to a one-year contract to avoid arbitration. Lauer will make $5.075 million this season. Robert Murray of Fansided reported the deal on Twitter:

The $5.075 million nearly doubles Lauer’s contract from last season. In 2021, Lauer made $2.425 million. Next season, 2024, will be his last season of arbitration before hitting free agency.

In two-plus seasons with the Brewers, Eric Lauer is 18-14 with a 3.84 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 4.38 FIP. Last season, he went 11-7 in 29 starts, posting a 3.69 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 4.50 FIP. He also posted 157 strikeouts in 158.2 innings.
