The Green Bay Packers will be without a key member in the secondary for the next four games. The Packers hinted a defensive back would likely be sent to the injured reserve this week when they made two roster moves at cornerback Wednesday morning.

According to Rob Demovsky with ESPN, safety Darnel Savage is heading to injured reserve for his calf injury. The Packers believe he can return this season but knew it would take multiple weeks before he could return.

The Packers’ 2019 first-round pick was one of a handful of former defensive first-round picks to go down with injuries against the Denver Broncos in Week 7. Devonte Wyatt was carted off the field in the first half. Eric Stokes suffered a hamstring injury in his first game back since last season.
The Packers’ secondary will play both beaten up and shorthanded against a Minnesota Vikings offense that looked feisty in their upset of the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football without Justin Jefferson. Jaire Alexander is battling a back injury as well.
