Green Bay’s kicker Mason Crosby has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. This comes after his Sunday night heroics, hitting a game-winning 51-yard field goal as time expired to beat San Francisco.

Crosby has earned the honor eight times throughout his storied career with the Packers, a team record. Winning it in 2007, 2010, twice in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018, he can now add 2021 to the list.

Crosby hit all three FGs he attempted against the 49ers, extending his streak to 22 made consecutively. This is the second-longest in Packers history, with the record of 23 being held by… you guessed it, Crosby himself! He now has the chance to break his own record in the upcoming game against Pittsburgh.

51 YARDS. MASON CROSBY FOR THE WIN. 🔥

    The Perfect Packer

No one deserves more praise and recognition than Mason Crosby. Often shrouded by bigger names and more “glamorous” positions, he doesn’t always get the acknowledgement he so rightfully deserves.

However, for fifteen years, Crosby has been one of the league’s most steadfast and trustworthy kickers. While other teams constantly wonder if their kicker will come through for them in the biggest moments, Packers fans never worry. We’ve become almost spoiled with Crosby, knowing he’s there on the sideline when we need him most.

Things haven’t always been easy for Crosby; he’s endured challenges in both his personal life and career. But he’s never let anything stop him. He’s remained generous and reliable both on-and-off the field, and he embodies what being a Green Bay Packer is all about. We’re so lucky to have Crosby on our team, as he proved on Sunday night.

Congratulations to Mason on being named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week! No one deserves it more.
