Dick Butkus has a follow-up message for Aaron Rodgers
Things could get chippy this week at Lambeau Field for the Week Two matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. The two teams are bitter divisional rivals. With the rivalry, ex-players and current players have done a good deal of chirping at one another before the game Sunday. Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus was the latest former Bears player to take a swipe at Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
Butkus took aim in August at the lack of wide receiver talent on the Packers this season. He sarcastically compared Rodgers passing attack this season to look like a game of fetch with a dog. Following the Packers’ brutal performance against the Minnesota Vikings in Week One, Butkus brought more salt to rub into the team’s wound on Twitter. He did so with brevity, saying, “Told you so.”

Week Two might be a different story
That comment was right on the mark for last week’s performance by the Packers offense. But the Packers were without their best wide receiver on the team. Allen Lazard should be back to play the Bears. Lazard’s skill and the Packers’ young receivers having a game under their belt should change the dynamics of the team’s offense.
It will be an aggressive match between the Bears and the Packers. The two teams have made disparaging comments about each other. Rodgers taunted a Bears fan last season and trolled his divisional rivals before this season. Bears defensive end Trevis Gipson returned the favor this week. He claimed the Bears would beat the Packers this week as the Bears were the better team.
One would imagine there will be verbal fireworks after the primetime game Sunday. The winner of this game will have bragging rights until their December 4th game at Soldier Field. We’ll see if Butkus changes his tune if the Packers can get the Win in Week Two.
