Jeff Teague revealed he is a big fan of the Milwaukee Bucks trading for Kyle Kuzma because of what he brings to the table and the additional financial flexibility the team is getting out of the deal.
However, Teague has warned that, while Kuzma is expected to be the third option behind Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, the one-time champion will assert himself within the team, similar to how he was with the Washington Wizards.
“That Giannis s*** like he going to respect Giannis, but he ain’t gonna give a f***. If he’s open, he’s going to shoot that motherf***er. If he think he can make the play, he’s going to make the play,” Teague explained about Kuzma on the Club 520 podcast.
“He’s not gonna sit back and wait for Giannis and Dame to do everything. He got that I don’t care mentality, and he up for a contract so,” he added.
Kyle Kuzma brings much-needed youthful energy for the Milwaukee Bucks
ESPN veteran analyst Stephen A. Smith is also a fan of the Kyle Kuzma move for the Milwaukee Bucks since he believes the former Washington Wizards forward adds youth to the roster.
“He is a champion. He has performed in the postseason. He has good size on him. He just wasn’t playing with purpose because the Washington Wizards are a moribund franchise who should consider giving fans their money back for the product they put on a basketball court this year. You take that into consideration, now Kyle Kuzma you got a bit younger, you got a bit healthier, and now he gets to play with purpose,” Smith said on ESPN First Take.
“I like the move with the Milwaukee Bucks, and I think they did the right thing. Obviously puts them in the mix to be every bit as formidable as any team with Giannis and Damian Lillard should be,” he concluded.
