Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was recently recognized as the Eastern Conference’s Player of the Month for January 2025. This is the 11th Player of the Month award of his NBA career and his first of the 2024-25 campaign.

The Greek Freak averaged 30.5 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game on 60 percent shooting from the field while leading Milwaukee to a 9-6 record in January. He also helped the Milwaukee Bucks notch the fifth-highest-scoring January in franchise history (118.5 ppg).
Antetokounmpo has recorded 19 consecutive double-doubles, with 15 coming in January. This is the longest active streak in the NBA this season and the second-longest of his career.

His superb performances have helped him earn another NBA All-Star selection, as Antetokounmpo dominated the voting returns.
Giannis Antetokounmpo might return in the Milwaukee Bucks-Charlotte Hornets tiff
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s return from injury couldn’t come soon enough, as he was out during the Milwaukee Bucks’ blowout loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder last Monday.

Head coach Doc Rivers rested Antetokounmpo and his fellow stars Damian Lillard (groin), Khris Middleton (ankle), and Brook Lopez (back) since they were fatigued from their long road trip. Antetokounmpo and Lillard are questionable to play against Charlotte, while Lopez and Middleton are upgraded with probable tags.
Bobby Portis, who missed the last six games while tending to a personal matter, was also given the probable label.
