It has been a wild lead-up to Thursday’s 2025 NBA trade deadline. The Milwaukee Bucks added to the chaos when they traded franchise icon Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards in a three-team deal on Wednesday that also included the New York Knicks. In return, the Wizards got a package bannered by forward Kyle Kuzma.
Several stars have now changed teams via trades over the last few days, and just like everyone else, Bucks star point guard Damian Lillard was left stunned by those moves.
“This crazy,” Lillard wrote in an Instagram Story post that shows several players who have been traded since last Saturday.

The 2025 NBA trade deadline has been absolutely bonkers

No trade that has gone through this year has been bigger than last Saturday’s bombshell swap between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks plus the Utah Jazz, which had Luka Doncic going to the Purple & Gold franchise and Anthony Davis landing with the Texas-based squad. Of course, there were also the trades of De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs, Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings, Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors and Andrew Wiggins to the Miami Heat.
As for the Bucks, they got younger and healthier with Kuzma, but it remains to be seen whether the former Utah Utes star will create a positive impact on Milwaukee enough to get them to the top come playoff time.
It has been an adventure so far in the 2024-25 NBA season for the Bucks, who have stitched together lengthy win streaks and suffered long skids while also winning the NBA Cup. At the moment, the Bucks have a 27-22 record, which is good for fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.
