Jackson Chourio’s legend continues even if it is only the spring training.
The 21-year-old outfielder recorded near .500 batting average in the pre-season, capped off by a 6-0 win against the Colorado Rockies before they move on to the opening day against the New York Mets.

Chourio hit 22 of 45 at-bats in the Cactus League. The stat could have been better but he was struck out in his two final stint at the bat.
This is only spring training but it was impressive regardless. His manager Pat Murphy thinks he is a special kid.
“He had a great spring in terms of he stayed within himself,” Murphy said.
“Spring training pitching is much different, but I have confidence in this kid.

“This is a special kid. Special person.”
Chourio comes to the new season with high expectations after a breakout 2024 season where he set multiple records including becoming the first player since Babe Ruth to hit two game-tying home runs in a postseason series.
Christian Yelich’s observation of Jackson Chourio
Christian Yelich is expected to be among the main guys for the Brewers once he’s back in full health. It is a good thing for him that Chourio is developing in such a fast pace.
In fact, he is loving it.
“I think he’s a great player,” Yelich said.
“He’s going to have a really good year. You obviously saw what he’s capable of in the second half of last year. As players, spring training to me is more about does your body feel good, did you get in shape to play.”

The vote of confidence from the manager and the star player is important for a young player like Chourio, although confidence is not something he is lacking.
He was asked to rate his confidence coming in to the new season. His answer:
“Twenty.”
As for the record he almost set, he said he is not aware that he came close to .500.
“I didn’t know,” Chourio said, “so it doesn’t really matter. You’re just focusing on trying to have good at-bats.”
