Today the Green Bay Packers announced they will be franchise tagging Davante Adams for the 2022 season. We’ve known this has been a possibility for quite some time. Green Bay and Davante Adams fad failed to come to terms on a long term agreement, however there was no way they would let him walk. This franchise tag gives them a full year to continue these long term contract talks.

What this means for the salary cap:
With Green Bay’s ability to resign Rodgers, it cleared enough room to franchise tag Adams. However this is not the end of it, Green Bay will most certainly be working on a long term deal
