The Green Bay Packers are ramping up to play the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Roster moves are inevitable throughout the season and today was no different. The Packers added two players to the active roster before Sunday’s contest Vs. the Bears. One of offense and one on defense. RB Patrick Taylor and S Micah Abernathy will see the field Vs Chicago.
RB Patrick Taylor and S Micah Abernathy Were Elevated To The 53-Man Roster
Abernathy (6-0, 195) wen to the University of Tennessee. He originally signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an un-drafted free agent in 2019. He has also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts and played for the Dallas Renegades of the XFL in 2020 and the Houston Gamblers of the USFL in 2022.
Taylor has spent the season on the Packers’ practice squad and active roster. He originally joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and has played in 16 regular-season games for Green Bay, including seven this season. Taylor was very successful at the University of Memphis. He played in 45 games with four starts at Memphis and finished his career with 2,884 rushing yards and 36 TDs on 536 carries (5.4 avg.).
Both Abernathy and Taylor have seen success at various points in their college/NFL careers. If their name is called upon in Chicago in a meaningful role it won’t be the first time. This is an opportunity they have both been waiting for.
