A Green Bay Packers NFC North rival lost their quarterback to an ACL injury this summer and needed to explore options for a replacement. The Detroit Lions added a player familiar with their offensive system to the practice squad following the injury news.
The Lions will be without Nate Sudfeld for the 2023 season after he sustained an ACL injury. Sudfeld’s injury compounds the Lions’ issues at the backup quarterback position as rookie Hendon Hooker is still rehabbing on the NFI list from an ACL injury he sustained last November.

Blough played in seven games for the Lions. He threw for 1,033 yards and added four touchdowns to seven interceptions during his three-year span with the Lions.
