Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers have been hard at work ever since he arrived in Madison. They have already landed some heavy recruits for the 2023 season. This has been highlighted recently by the commitment of QB Nick Evers. A four-star quarterback should provide a much-needed shock to the quarterback room. Now Wisconsin may be adding a weapon for Evers or a ball hawk on defense. WR/DB Amare Snowden has listed Wisconsin in his final five.

Amare Snowden is one of the nation’s top uncommitted defensive backs. The one-time Cincinnati commit out of Roseville, Mich. has become a hot commodity since backing off of his pledge to the Bearcats. He most recently took official visits to both West Virginia and the Wisconsin Badgers. His final five include Wisconsin, Colorado, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and the Howard Bison. After his recent visit at Wisconsin, Snowden had some glowing things to say about Luke Fickell:
“It was great,” Snowden said of his official visit to Madison. “Really good. The players, they were all good welcoming and the food… I love to eat.” Snowden then went on to talk about his experience meeting head coach Luke Fickell: “He has a vision that’s insane, they will be good in the future.”
Whether he commits to wide receiver or defensive back, Amare Snowden would be a huge get for the Wisconsin Badgers. His commitment date will be December 21st at his high school. This is his official scouting report for 24/7 Sports:
High school cornerback and wide receiver. Could be a big corner in college or go to safety. As he has gotten older and filled in his frame, safety looks like the more likely position. Excellent baseball player who has shown fluidity in change of direction. Also has natural ball skills and ability to play the ball in the air. Has length and can challenge bigger outside receivers on jump balls. Pure, straight line speed has not been documented or verified that we have seen. Has a lot of upside and versatility but still has to keep developing technically. Can still get stronger and we do not see a ton of him in run support so that is a part of his game that needs to be further evaluated. Should develop into a Power Five difference maker.
