When the Packers signed Benkert to a future’s deal after the 2021 season, fans were esctatic. And when the Packers cut him in the spring, fans were truly disappointed. Whenever Benkert has had a workout or signed with another team, Packers fans have cheered him on through social media. Well, fans, rejoice once again! Benkert, of course is famous among Packers fans for attending a Fourth of July cookout with a fan. He also got the first snap of his NFL career when he went in to take a knee last season. Most of all, Benkert is (and will always be) popular among fans because of how open he is about what the life of a NFL player is like and that he is unapologetically himself.
All Packers fans will be Roughnecks fans this yaer.
Prior to this news, Benkert had spent some of the 2022 NFL season on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. He also had workouts with the Tennessee Titans among other teams.
