I’ve got bad news for you, Packers fans… really, really bad news. Green Bay’s quarterback Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for the coronavirus. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero broke the story just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday. All indications suggest that Rodgers will miss Sunday’s game against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

But perhaps most shocking of all is that Rodgers is reportedly unvaccinated, according to league insiders.
My understanding is that Aaron Rodgers has been following protocols for unvaccinated players while inside the building. https://t.co/g5xyjDZ6uL

This is in stark contrast to what Rodgers told the media in a press conference in late August, saying “Yeah, I’ve been immunized” when asked about his vaccination status. He went on to add, “It’s a personal decision” and that he wouldn’t judge teammates who chose not to get vaccinated.
At this point, neither Rodgers nor the Packers have made any official statements about this news.
Asked if he was vaccinated, Aaron Rodgers answered affirmatively and said he was "immunized." https://t.co/oS8JvW5X1O

The bottom line is: Green Bay will take on Kansas City in four days in one of the most highly anticipated games of their season. And it looks like they’ll have to do so without Aaron Rodgers. Even more worrisome, the Packers’ third-string QB Kurt Benkert announced yesterday that he has contracted COVID-19 as well. This has many fans wondering if Jordan Love could be next… meaning Green Bay could potentially be without all three of their quarterbacks on Sunday.
The Packers did knock off the undefeated Arizona Cardinals last week with wide receivers Davante Adams and Allen Lazard out with COVID-19. Only time will tell if they can somehow manage another miraculous victory, this time without their star quarterback.
