New Yorkers on their morning commute Wednesday morning may have noticed some new advertising in Times Square. The Varsity Collective, the NIL affiliate of UW-Madison, launched a new campaign on National Signing Day to get Badger fans, and players, excited about the new era in Madison. Seen on Time Square video boards were graphics welcoming the 27 new transfers and recruits to the program for the 2023 season. In a statement released by The Varsity Collective, the organization wanted to give players “their 15 minutes of fame”, a slogan that is synonymous with the world-famous advertisement that goes on in the center of New York City. Players and fans alike can be excited by how The Varsity Collective and UW football staff have been utilizing the use of digital media to generate excitement around the program, a break from the last regime’s more traditional approach to recruitment.
