Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had a lot to overcome during his first season as a full-time starter in the NFL. There were those early in the season who wanted to give up on him, but he proved as the season went on why he would be getting a big contract from this team and possibly leading them to another Super Bowl title one day.
There is something that needs to be said about Love. He finished the 2023 season in the top 10 in passing yards and passing touchdowns. Jordan Love was ranked seventh in passing yards with 4,159 yards. He had more passing yards this season than the MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens (3,678 yards). The leader this season in passing yards was Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins with 4,624 yards.
Love threw the second most touchdowns in the NFL last season with 32. Only Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys had more than him with 36 passing touchdowns and he was an MVP finalist. Lamar Jackson finished 11th in the NFL this season in passing touchdowns with only 24.
Love had several games this season where he threw for at least two or more touchdown passes and zero interceptions. Not even Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes did that throughout the season.
These Stats of Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Go To Show He Can Be an MVP Finalist As Early As Next Season
The fact that Love was ranked seventh in passing yards last season and second in passing touchdowns is a good sign for this franchise for years to come. Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre have won MVP Awards for the Green Bay Packers in the past and Jordan Love is next in line to win one.
He has the best odds out of any NFC quarterback to win the award next season. Love will have another offseason to get better. The Packers have a chance to be special in 2024 because of him. If they are in serious contention for a Super Bowl next season, Love is going to be one of the reasons why.
It would be hard for him not to be a finalist next season if he were to repeat last season’s numbers. There is a lot of time between now and next season to predict what kind of numbers Love will put up, but it will be hard to ignore him if he does this again.
