The start of the 2023 NFL season is this week as the Green Bay Packers head to Soldier Field to face the Chicago Bears in their season opener. Fans of both teams are well aware of the recent history between the two squads. Now with a new starting quarterback under center for the Green Packers, some fans seem to be terrified of the Packers’ new signal caller Jordan Love.
Kyle Brandt from Good Morning recently spoke on the Rich Eisen show about his thoughts on the Chicago Bears opening game.
Kyle Brandt’s Thoughts on Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love
“It is the double anxiety bowl for the Chicago Bears fans because Jordan Love just can’t be great. He can’t. It’s not possible. Don’t do it. Meanwhile, Justin Fields has to be great,” said Brandt. “It’s going to take one drive,” said Brandt.
“Let’s say the Bears win the toss and defer, and Love comes out first-and-10 at the 25, and they go down the field and score a touchdown, it’s already on. The terrible start. The city will melt. There’s so much anxiety about Jordan Love being really, really good.”
Packers fans no longer have Aaron Rodgers, who held a winning record of 24-5 against the Bears. Love did sit behind the former Packers quarterback for three years before becoming the full-time starter this season. If Brandt’s comments turn out to be true, it could be a long day at Soldier Field to start his team’s season opener at home.
Packers Chances to Beat Justin Fields On the Road

Of course, a Packers win against the Bears would be great to start out. It would also give fans more confidence in Jordan Love. Hopefully, they get good results in his first true NFL start as the Green Bay Packers quarterback. He does have options at wide receiver with Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs if healthy, Samori Toure, and rookies Jayden Reed, DonTayvion Wicks, and Malik Heath. The Packers certainly have a chance to win if things go right in Week 1.
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has yet to beat the Green Bay Packers since he arrived in the NFL. He currently has a 0-4 record after last season in 2022. Bears fans do hope that things turn around now that Aaron Rodgers has moved on to another team in the New York Jets. Both fanbases will have to see what takes place on September 10th at Soldier Field.
Jordan Love’s Decision Making To Start 2023

Packers starting quarterback Jordan Love did not have a huge preseason. He did go 21-33 for 183 yards and three touchdown passes. Love rushed only four times for 33 yards. Decision-making about when to run will be a key factor as the season starts. Connecting with his receivers will be a top priority, along with his pocket presence when being under pressure against the Bears.
The Green Bay Packers travel to Soldier Field in Week 1. The game is set to kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox!
