Aaron Rodgers seemed pretty excited following the New York Jets’ victory over the Denver Broncos Sunday. The matchup was much hyped before the game after Broncos head coach Sean Payton belittled former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
Hackett lasted 15 games in Denver before the Broncos fired him. He took a job with the Jets to be Rodgers’ offensive coordinator this season. Payton said Hackett was one of the head coaches in league history this summer.
Jets players came to Hackett’s defense Sunday. They used profanity-laced statements aimed at Payton when they walked out of the tunnel to play the Broncos. The Jets followed up their statements by beating the Broncos 31-21, sending Payton heading into Week 6 with a 1-4 record.
Aaron Rodgers sends message to former Green Bay Packers coach
Rodgers defended Hackett this summer after Payton made his incendiary comments. He was all too happy to Tweet out a statement following the Jets’ second win of the season.
“W.” #hackett,” Rodgers wrote.

It was a big win for the Jets in Week 5. The Jets were able to get Payton to eat his words without Rodgers paying a snap against Denver. Now, the Jets can be .500 if they can beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6.
