Aaron Rodgers added fuel to the speculation that the Packers’ final game of the season could be his last…at least with the club.
Rodgers and the Packers fell short against their NFC North divisional rivals on Sunday night in Lambeau. The 20-16 heartbreaker Green Bay confirmed that the club won’t be participating in the post-season for the first-time since 2018 and only the fourth time in Rodgers’ career.
Aaron Rodgers Refuses to Give Up Jersey to Lions Rookie After Crushing Loss
Following the Packers’ devastating week 18 loss to the Detroit Lions, QB, Aaron Rodgers met midfield with former Green Bay tailback, Jonathan Williams. Rodgers’ former teammate, who rushed for 72 yards to go along with a pair of scores, including what ended up being the game winning one-yard plunge with 5:55 remaining in the game, was seen meeting with the former MVP alongside current teammate and Lions rookie wideout, Jameson Williams, the latter of which asked Rodgers for his jersey. However, as caught on cameras (with audio), Rodgers was heard saying ‘I think I’m gonna hold onto this one’ with a smirk positioned toward Williams.

What’s Next For Aaron Rodgers?
If tonight was truly it for Rodgers, at least in Green Bay, it’ll end an 18-year run with the Packers, where the California-native led the team to a Super Bowl championship in 2011. Rodgers ranks second in yards all-time for the franchise (59,060), only trailing Hall of Famer, Brett Favre (61,655), while already securing the top spot for the club in touchdown passes (475).

How can he say he won’t hold the team hostage? The contract he has is the gun. Unless he retires or renegotiates they are hostage to him.
