Aaron Rodgers Inadvertently Tarnishes Coaching Staff Following Bills Loss

The Green Bay Packers are on the brink of a full collapse. After losing to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night the Packers fell to 3-5 on the season.  With the Minnesota Vikings a stout 6-1, the Packers’ chances of repeating as division champs are fading fast.  On Tuesday Aaron Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and talked in detail about the preparation for the Bills game.  What he said shocked many and left fans wondering what the rest of the season has in store.

Aaron Rodgers’ Comments Leave Fans Scratching Their Head

Aaron Rodgers told “The Pat McAfee Show” that he was encouraged by the energy level of his team.  Specifically, he mentioned the energy during the lead-up to Sunday night’s showdown with the Buffalo Bills.  Even if extra juice didn’t help the Packers play better early or snap the losing streak.  Rodgers actually said Sunday night was the “first” time he’s felt the team was ready to play from an energy-level standpoint all season.

“The feeling of it, the energy just felt better. Pre-game, this was the first game of the season where it really felt like we were ready to play, energetically,” Rodgers said. “It’s more just a feeling, that we’re dialed in, ready to go. Again, doesn’t translate to a win, but that energy is encouraging for us moving forward.”

Needless to say that fans had a pretty significant reaction to Rodgers saying this was the first time he felt the team was ready all season.  Here are some of the more critical ones:

Paraphrasing here but… “First time we’ve felt ready to play this year”…

Huh?? It took you 8 weeks?

An indictment on the entire franchise, top to bottom. That’s alarming, to say the least! https://t.co/Am9FrGrlQi

    That’s horrific and I don’t know if it’s Rodgers or MLF’s fault https://t.co/ffzTqWprrP

“This is the first game of the season we felt ready to play.”

    That’s … man. https://t.co/agRElpfgaO

The fallout from this comment has been real.  Fans are questioning why the team hasn’t “felt ready” all season.  They are also questioning why Green Bay got down so early if they had “such great energy” to start the game.  The Packers are certainly going through a rough patch both on and off the field.  The best cure for something like this though?  Start winning games.  They have a chance to do just that when they travel to Detroit this Sunday to play the 1-6 Lions.
