Disaster struck for Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in their very first drive of the season. This is after New York’s new cornerstone quarterback had to be carted off the field with what has been later revealed as a devastating Achilles injury.
The bad news for the Jets is that there is now some serious fear that Rodgers could be done for the season.
New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers Went Down After Sack

A video of the exact moment Rodgers injured his Achilles is currently making its rounds on social media. It’s pretty graphic so watch at your own risk:
This is probably the clearest video of Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury. You can clearly see it….

In the slow-motion video above, you can clearly see something snap/pop on the back of A-Rod’s left leg. Looking at this clip alone, you can already tell that it’s a pretty bad injury.
One particular fan pointed out that Rodgers’ injury looked eerily similar to Kevin Durant’s Achilles tear a few years back. Video evidence proves this point:

For context, Durant ended up missing an entire season because of that injury.
Aaron Rodgers Could Be Done for Season

Shortly after the game, Jets head coach Robert Saleh revealed to the press that his new superstar quarterback suffered a ruptured Achilles and that “it’s not good.” While New York has yet to officially confirm it, the general belief is that this is a tragic season-ending injury for the 39-year-old.
Renowned sports medicine doctor Brian Sutterer has come out with his initial analysis of Rodgers’ injury. The good doctor points out that it’s also possible that this may not have been an Achilles injury after all:

Whether or not it’s an Achilles injury remains to be seen, and this should be determined once Rodgers undergoes more tests. Whatever the case might be, though, it’s looking like we’ve already seen the last of Aaron Rodgers this season.
