Over a year ago, Bradley Beal was one of the hottest names on the market. While he eventually went to the Phoenix Suns, the All-Star shooting guard revealed that the Milwaukee Bucks attempted to acquire him in exchange for Khris Middleton.

In a significant move, the Suns have acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards. This trade involved a three-team deal that also included the Indiana Pacers. The Suns sent veteran point guard Chris Paul, along with Landry Shamet and several draft assets, to Washington in exchange for Beal.

Beal, a three-time All-Star, was projected to bring a wealth of scoring ability, having averaged over 23 points per game throughout his career. His addition to the Suns, alongside stars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, was aimed to transform Phoenix as a formidable contender in the Western Conference.

The trade also reflected a shift in strategy for the Suns, who are looking to maximize their championship window. Unfortunately, the All-Star trio of Beal, Durant, and Booker were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves a couple of months ago.

Just recently, Beal appeared on Run Your Race and discussed a number of topics. During that podcast, the Phoenix Suns All-Star revealed how the Bucks attempted to acquire him in exchange for Khris Middleton, as seen in a tweet shared by Basketball on X.

According to Bradley Beal, the Bucks were willing to trade Khris Middleton in a deal to get him to Milwaukee

Beal shared that Middleton’s player option complicated the potential deal, as he would need to opt in to facilitate a trade to Washington. Ultimately, the Bucks opted to trade Jrue Holiday instead, reshaping their roster.

This missed opportunity highlights the dynamic shifts in the NBA and suggests how different player combinations could have influenced team success. The Bucks’ future remains uncertain as they adjust to their current lineup for the upcoming season.
