Aaron Donald has played with one NFL team throughout his entire NFL career, the Los Angeles Rams. There have been rumors going around this offseason that if the Rams get off to a bad start again this season, they could very well shop him.
Aaron Donald currently has a no-trade clause on his contract. He would have to waive his no-trade clause to be moved. This would signal a Los Angeles Rams rebuild if this happened. Donald has a cap hit of over $26 million this season and over $34 million next season and could be an unrestricted free agent after the 2024 season.
Aaron Donald is currently 32 years old. He would potentially get traded to a win-now team if he shopped. What teams could shop for him?
Aaron Donald Trade Rumors: Potential Landing Sports (2023)
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers make sense because Aaron Donald played college football at the University of Pittsburgh. The thought of having T.J. Watt and Aaron Donald on the same defense could be scary. It could slow down the elite offenses in the AFC, and good luck trying to figure out who to block.
The Steelers are all about winning Super Bowls, and a trade for Donald would signal they are going for it. Head coach Mike Tomlin is also a defensive-minded head coach.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles don’t need all of these players, right? General manager Howie Roseman would not mind parting with several picks and a couple of young players on the defense.
Jalen Carter or Nolan Smith can go in that trade, along with another defensive player or two. The thought of Fletcher Cox and Aaron Donald on the same team is terrifying.
Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are a very interesting football team heading into the 2023 season. If they are in playoff contention with quarterback Deshaun Watson this season, Cleveland could make a move to get back to the postseason under head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett would be one-on-one nightmares for other offensive linemen. They wouldn’t be able to be double-teamed. The Browns don’t mind shopping their first-round picks, and their fanbase is hungry for a Super Bowl.
