The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions are set to square off on Sunday Night Football. For Green Bay, if they win they are IN the playoffs. This will be one of the biggest Packers-Lions games of recent memory. 90 minutes before kick-off each team released their inactive lists. The Detroit Lions had a big one that just popped up on the injury report earlier this week. Starting cornerback Jeff Okudah is OUT against the Packers.
CB Jeff Okudah Ruled Out Vs The Packers
Per Ryan Wood:
For the Lions, CB Jeff Okudah is inactive. He was questionable with after dropping out of Friday’s practice with an elbow injury.
So far this season Jeff Okudah has started 15 games and has 73 tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble. CB Mike Hughes has split time with Okudah at outside cornerback in the past two weeks and figures to be the replacement for Okudah on Sunday Night. This injury will severely strain the Lions’ cornerback depth, something Aaron Rodgers should be able to take advantage of. Okudah has had a strong season and was even on the list of “pro bowl snubs.”
The Lions’ defensive unit as a whole has struggled this year against the pass. Going into week 18 they rank 27th in the league is pass yards allowed. The Lions have given up 3,991 yards passing this year, an average of 234.7 per game. Losing one of their starters won’t bode well, especially going against Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau Field.
