Rich Bisaccia has transformed the Packers special teams unit. It has been refreshing not to have the worst special teams unit in the league. It isn’t all unicorns and rainbows though. Amari Rodgers is struggling to find his place and many are saying it is time to move on. Bisaccia had some strong words for those people today. Rich Bisaccia strongly defends Amari Rodgers in an interview today.
Rich Bisaccia Defends Amari Rodgers
Rich Bisaccia is standing by Amari Rodgers, despite ball-security issues. He says Rodgers has an "exciting future" and indicates he's worth the patience: "We're not going to shit can a guy. He works his rear end off."

Ball security has been a huge problem for Amari Rodgers. He coughed up another one on Sunday though the Packers did end up recovering the ball. This has not swayed Bisaccia’s opinion on Amari Rodgers. “We’re not going to sh** can a guy. He works his rear end off.” Bisaccia said when asked about Amari Rodgers. He went on to say that the struggling wide receiver has an exciting future. It is interesting to hear a coach come out so strongly for Amari Rodgers as he clearly has fallen out of favor in a lot of units on the team.
Will Amari Rodgers Develop?
If Amari Rodgers is going to develop under anyone, it is Bisaccia. He apparently is a hard worker which is a good thing to hear. I’m sure that Bisaccia doesn’t take laziness during practice and in games. While this is a great quote to hear, it would be great to see some of this development on the field. He has had some okay moments but they are scattered amongst puzzling and downright maddening moments. It is why many are calling for him to be traded. Kylin Hill came off the PUP list and many fans are excited to see what he could bring to the return game. Sunday will give us a picture of how the team views Amari Rodgers on special teams.
It is great to hear Rich Bisaccia strongly defend Amari Rodgers. However, the production on the field has to be there too. The Packers are not in a rebuild, they are trying to win a Super Bowl. A costly fumble on a punt return could end the season abruptly. If he is still with the team after the trade deadline, it will be interesting to see how he develops.
