The Packers special teams have been a delightful surprise this season. While the offense and defense have some work to do, the special teams unit is solid. Special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia brought in many of his former players to play special teams. At a recent press conference, Rich Bisaccia had a crazy description for Dallin Leavitt.
Rich Bisaccia Has Crazy Description For Leavitt
Rich Bisaccia on Dallin Leavitt: “He’s that GUY. He’s the energizer bunny. He’s the Tasmanian devil.”
Does he piss off opponents?
“Well, he pisses me off, too.”
Bisaccia said a ref came up to him and asked, “What is wrong with No. 6?” pic.twitter.com/R4xtXx9buk

When asked about Leavitt, Bisaccia compared him to a Tasmanian devil. Players like this often get under the opponent’s skin and it apparently doesn’t stop with opponents. Bisaccia said Leavitt gets under his skin as well. He apparently acts so crazy on the field that refs come over to question what is wrong with him. This is exactly the type of player that the Packers have been missing on special teams. It is really funny to hear Bisaccia talk about a guy that he clearly likes as a player but thinks is an absolute crazy person on the field.
Special Teams Have Been Solid
It isn’t just Leavitt that has led to the resurgence of the special teams. Pat O’Donnell has punted very well and put the Packers defense in situations to succeed. The punt coverage has not given up too many big returns. The return game needs help but Amari Rodgers simply is too afraid to mess up and won’t take chances. The one thing they need is someone to help the return game become more dynamic. Dallin Leavitt’s energy is clearly rubbing off on the other players and it has led to a resurgence in special teams for the Packers.
It is fun to hear coaches talk about players like this. Rich Bisaccia having a crazy description for Dallin Leavitt shows that this team is feeling loose and having fun. Winning teams have fun. There is plenty to work on but as long as the Packers are feeling good about where they are, the fans should have confidence that they will iron their kinks out.
