There are not many stats that you want to be last in the league in. Especially when you are trying to compete for a Super Bowl. However, there is one stat that every team strives to be at the bottom in. That stat is penalties. Penalties can kill a drive or wipe out a big play. Nothing is more aggravating than a dumb penalty on your team. The Packers are the least penalized team in the NFL through 2 weeks.
Packers Are The Least Penalized Team Through Two Weeks
Thru 2 weeks, the Packers are the least penalized team in the NFL.

The Packers are the least penalized team in the NFL. Through two games they have had only 5 penalties total. 2 have been false starts, 1 was offensive holding, another defensive holding, and the last was a 5 yard penalty by Rashan Gary. That’s it. The grand total of penalty yardage is a mere 35 yards. 16 teams have over 100 yards of penalty yardage and one, the Denver Broncos, even have over 200 yards. This is a great sign for the Packers early in the season.
The Packers Aren’t Beating Themselves
Penalties can kill and drive. For an offense that might have some problems this season, a false start or holding penalty could mean the end of a drive. This is not happening for the Packers. They are not beating themselves. This means the Packers are ahead of the sticks and controlling the clock. No mental mistakes are hurting the Packers. This stat also shows how good the Packers secondary has been. Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes and Rasul Douglas are covering receivers without holding. The NFL made defensive holding a point of emphasis this offseason. The fact the Packers have not been guilty of one in the secondary is amazing. If the Packers can continue to be the least penalized team in the NFL, it will have a huge impact on the season.
This is great to see if you are a Packers fan. Well coached teams do not commit penalties. The Packers have great coaches. I expect this trend of the Packers being the least penalized team to continue. This is one stat they will be happy to finish last in for the 2022 season.
