The Milwaukee Brewers have re-signed Jace Peterson to a minor league contract, with an invite to major league spring training. This deal comes after the team has signed a plethora of other utility players, most recently including Dustin Peterson and Pablo Reyes.
INF/OF Jace Peterson has been re-signed to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Major League camp. Peterson started 15 games with the #Brewers in 2020: 6g in RF, 3g at 3B, 2g in LF, 2g at 1B, 2g at 2B. pic.twitter.com/v471Y1tVIO

The 30-year old Peterson played in 26 games with the Brewers last season, hitting a mere .200 batting average, yet posting a .393 on-base percentage and a career-high .749 OPS. His ability to get on base by walks and his versatility on defense boosts his overall value as a player. If his hitting abilities increase between last season and this season, Peterson may turn into a key piece on the Brewers’ major league roster.
As of right now, this acquisition is not much more than adding minor league depth. But, a low-risk, high-reward type of signing can only help the team over the course of the season.
