Green Bay Packers rival quarterback Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears has been linked to various trade rumors as of late. Chicago is currently 0-4 on the year and can very well drop to 0-5 on Thursday night against the Washington Commanders. Fields is currently in his season with the franchise, and they can land back-to-back number-one overall picks.
If that were the case, Fields is not going to be the quarterback for the Chicago Bears in 2024. They would most likely take USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the number one overall pick. Chicago also owns the Carolina Panthers top selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.
What is interesting about Justin Fields is that he can land in an interesting spot at the NFL trade deadline, which is set for October 31. A former NFL executive mentioned a very intriguing landing spot for him this week in an interview with NFL Analysis Network.
The former executive said:
“A lot of people have talked about the Falcons. I’m going to throw another team out there. Keep an eye on the Pittsburgh Steelers if Kenny Pickett doesn’t get things turned around this season.”
It would be a major surprise that Pittsburgh would be in the Justin Fields sweepstakes because they need to let Kenny Pickett play throughout the season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers Trading For Green Bay Packers Rival Quarterback Justin Fields Would be a Massive Mistake and an Inditement on the Coaching Staff
The current backup quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers is former Green Bay Packers rival quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. It would be a mistake for Pittsburgh to trade for Fields. If they were to trade for him, this shows that the coaching staff has no idea how to develop Kenny Pickett.
The Steelers fanbase has been complaining about offensive coordinator Matt Canada and head coach Mike Tomlin frequently. They feel like they need a change, and it feels like the change that needs to be made is the Pittsburgh Steelers firing Matt Canada. They should have fired him after last season, but the organization feels tone-deaf about it.
He has completed 60.6% of his passes for 803 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions. Pickett does need to put up better numbers, but he doesn’t deserve all of the blame. He did throw for only seven touchdowns last season and nine interceptions, along with 2,404 yards and completing 63.0% of his passes. Kenny Pickett has very good offensive weapons like Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, George Pickens, Allen Robinson II, Pat Freirmuth, and Darnell Washington.
Dionate Johnson is currently on IR for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lastly, the Atlanta Falcons would be a way better fit for Green Bay Packers rival quarterback Justin Fields rather than the Pittsburgh Steelers would.
