It was an exciting weekend in Chicago as the Brewers battled the White Sox. Here is a complete recap of the series and what to expect next from the Brew Crew.
Brewers vs. White Sox Game One:
Final Score: 7-6 Brewers
Corbin Burnes took the mound for the Brewers, but his performance fell short, conceding 5 runs over 5.2 innings—an underwhelming start. On the other side, Michael Kopech of the White Sox also struggled, giving up four runs in 4.1 innings.
The Brewers’ offense found its spark in the first inning when William Contreras delivered an RBI single. Milwaukee continued their momentum into the second inning, as Victor Caratini blasted a solo home run. In the fifth inning, Willy Adames extended the lead with a two-run single.
Milwaukee seized control in the sixth inning, capitalizing on an error to push across another run. The game remained tied until the tenth inning when Mark Canha came through with a decisive game-winning double for the Brewers.
Brewers vs. White Sox Game Two:
Final Score: 3-2 Brewers
Brandon Woodruff took the mound for Milwaukee, squaring off against Chicago’s Jesse Scholtens. Woodruff delivered an impressive performance, pitching over 6.1 innings and conceding only two earned runs. Scholtens matched Woodruff’s 6.1 innings but gave up three runs in the process.
Throughout most of the game, Milwaukee found themselves trailing. However, in the seventh inning, Tyrone Taylor stepped up, delivering a clutch two-run single that brought the team back into contention. Building on Taylor’s momentum, William Contreras followed up with a crucial go-ahead single, which ultimately secured the victory for Milwaukee.
Brewers vs. White Sox Game Three:
Final Score: 7-3 White Sox
Taking the mound for Milwaukee, Freddy Peralta squared off against Chicago’s Dylan Cease. Peralta exhibited sharp pitching, crafting six shutout innings. Cease also had a respectable start, permitting three earned runs over seven innings.
The Brewers’ offense found its footing with Mark Canha’s sacrifice fly in the second inning. Andruw Monasterio extended the lead with an RBI double in the fifth inning. The game’s dynamic shifted in the eighth inning when Carlos Santana launched a three-run homer. Finally, in the ninth inning, Christian Yelich sealed the deal with a two-run single, solidifying Milwaukee’s victory.
