MLB News: The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds met on Monday evening for their first of three games against one another. Game one ended in dramatic fashion as Brewers star outfielder Christian Yelich collected a walk-off single in the ninth inning to give the Brew Crew a 3-2 victory.
This was a well played ball game all around. Rookie Brewers outfielder Joey Wiemer robbed Elly De La Cruz of a home run in the first inning only for him to counter with a 456 two run bomb in the third inning. Later on Sal Frelick’s first career home run tied the game at two runs a piece in the sixth.
Milwaukee put a ton of runners on base in this game and finished just 2-16 with runners in scoring position. They ended up getting the big hit that they needed though as Christian Yelich delivered in the clutch to close out the game.

This is the final series of the regular season between the Brewers and Reds. Milwaukee already owns the season tie breaker, which is important because after this game standing wise the Brew Crew extended their division lead over the Reds to 1.5 games. Due to the tie breaker, this really is a 2.5 game lead.
Game two of the series will start at 7:10 PM CT. Corbin Burnes will take the hill and face off against Andrew Abbott.
